Terrorist attack in the Oslo government quarter: Voice of Russia
According to preliminary reports, two people were killed and fifteen wounded. There were no Russians among the victims. The blast site has very severe damage, Russian Charge d'Affaires in Norway Mikhail Zubov told 'Voice of Russia' (VIDEO)
Updated 20:50 GMT
«At the moment it is known that there was a large explosion near the government quarter in Oslo between the buildings housing the Prime Minister's office and the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. They are now determining if the explosion occurred in the street, inside a building, or in a parked car. There is very severe damage,» said Zubov.
According to him there were no Russians injuried.
«The embassy contacted the police, the headquarters investigating the incident, as well as rescue and emergency services. According to preliminary information there are no Russian citizens among the victims. Meanwhile the embassy is in constant contact with the Norwegian authorities,» said the embassy representative.
The first blast occurred near the office of 'VG', a major Norwegian tabloid located next to the Norwegian government quarter in Oslo, according to Agence France Press citing local media. Immediately after the first explosion came a second one.
Downtown was cordoned off by police, which began searching for other, possibly unexploded, bombs. Chaos reigns at the scene.
Passengers and staff at the central railway station in Oslo were evacuated.
Three persons were detained on suspicion of involvement in the bombings, reported the 'Sky News' website on Friday, citing local media.
According to the Norwegian media, police have also cordoned off a suspicious vehicle at the Oslo airport. Details were not given.

No Norwegian government employees were injured as a result of the blast in the center of Oslo, said Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. He described the situation as «very serious».
Nearby offices were evacuated.

People are still trapped in buildings damaged in the explosion
«There are still people in the buildings,» said Secretary of State Christian Amundsen, though he refused to give details.
According to him, the current situation can be called the most serious of any they have seen in the country.
It is also reported that there is also a fire in the oil ministry building.
«I saw the shattered windows of the VG (the largest Norwegian tabloid) and government buildings. People are out in the street bleeding,» said a report by Norwegian radio station NRK.
Reuters cited eyewitnesses who reported that the blast shattered the windows of nearby buildings.
Doctors arrived on the scene to help injured people who were at the time of the explosion in the area's pedestrian zone. The number of wounded is still being determined.

Police believe that it was a terrorist attack
According to executive director of the Russian Association of Tour Operators, Maya Lomidze, Russian tourists generally do not visit the area where the explosion occurred.
«Most tourists go to other areas of the Norwegian capital. In any case, are association has not received reports of any Russian tourists suffering as a result of the explosion, „ said Lomidze.
According to her, there are not likely to be a lot of organized Russian tours in the Norwegian capital.
“We're talking about a couple of groups, no more», said Lomidze.
In the past, militants from the Al-Qaeda international terrorist network have made repeated threats against NATO member Norway in connection with its participation in military operations in Afghanistan. Norway also participated in NATO air strikes on Libya.
In Norway itself, according to the Western media, there are no terrorist organizations, though occasionally authorities report the arrests of persons suspected of involvement in terrorism.
