 The Moscow regional court has decided to hear the case of the attack at Domodedovo airport in private, according to an August 20th report in Interfax. The case proceedings will begin August 27th. According to the ITAR-TASS news agency, the court has decided to keep the preliminary hearings closed. The reasons for this decision were not reported.
A suicide bombing on January 24th, 2011 killed 37 people and injured more than 160. Investigation into the crime was completed on July 10th, 2012. According to investigators, the immediate perpetrator of the terrorist attack was 20-year-old Magomed Yevloyev. Doku Umarov, militant leader in the North Caucasus, assumed responsibility.
Four are in the dock: Ahmed Yevloyev, Bashir Khamkhoyev, and the brothers Islam and Ilez Yandiyev. Investigators believe that the accused helped terrorist Yevloyev travel from Ingushetia to Moscow, rented an apartment in the capital city for him, and got him a suicide belt, according to RIA Novosti. The accused also chose the location for the attack — the international arrivals hall. Several other persons in the case were put on the wanted list, including Doku Umarov.

ЕСПЧ. «Криволуцкая против России» теракт Домодедово. Решение № 28008/14, от 17.10.2017 г.
ЕСПЧ признал нарушение Статьи 2 Конвенции – Право на жизнь, и обязательства государства по проведению эффективного расследования.
Суть нарушения — неадекватности мер безопасности, принятых в аэропорту Домодедово в соответствующий момент времени, благодаря чему стал возможен взрыв в этом аэропорту. Террорист смог зайти в здание аэропорта с взрывным устройством из-за неадекватных мер безопасности, установленных в аэропорту, без помощи эффективного уголовного расследования, потерпевшая не доказала гражданскую ответственность ответчиков. Власти знали или должны были знать о приготовлении взрыва.
Суд присудил потерпевшей возмещение морального ущерба в размере 5,000 евро.
Суд присудил 2,000 евро в качестве возмещения юридических издержек.
