{mosimageFormer FBI agent Ali Soufan, who wrote a book about the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, stated that the CIA required him to censor his memoirs. This was reported on August 25th in The New York Times. According to Soufan's lawyer, the former agent found out from certain sources that the secret services were preventing the publication of his book because they were not satisfied with its content.

Soufan and his representative claim that the CIA demands the removal of excerpts from the text of the book, excerpts that show the agency's activities in a negative light.

7 years ago on September 3rd there was a tragic ending the terrible tragedy in Beslan. Every year on this day since then in Russia and the rest of the world people remember those whose lives were cut short by terrorists.

At 11:00 am on September 3rd at different sites in the capital there will be a series of memorial services held for victims of terrorism. Young Muscovites will gather in places where terrorist attacks took place and commemorate people whose lives were cut short by those for whom human life is but pocket change in a political debate. Memorial services and a laying of flowers at memorials with the participation of children and youth organizations will be held at the following locations:

On August 24th, 2004, two airliners left Moscow's Domodedovo airport. A Tu-154 assumed a course towards Sochi, while a Tu-134 headed towards Volgograd, but neither would ever arrive at their destination. Almost simultaneously, terrorists blew up both ‘iron birds’: the Tu-154 while flying over the Rostov region, and the Tu-134 over the Tula region. All 88 passengers on board both aircraft were killed. That terrible day will forever remain in the memory of many residents of Volgograd, since on one of the ill-fated aircraft were children, parents, and friends of the residents of that heroic city of WW II fame. Meanwhile, the loved ones of these terrorism victims are still unable achieve punishment of the indirect culprits of this 'heavenly catastrophe'.

Fake bombs were found on the playgrounds of four Baikonur kindergartens, according to a report by RIA Novosti on Wednesday, August 17th, citing city law enforcement officials.

They told the news agency that the simulated explosive devices were found on August 15th on the premises of kindergartens located on Maximov and Nitochkin streets in the 6th and 7th city districts.
