 On January 21st at the Omsk State Drama ‘Fifth Theatre’ there will be a premiere of ‘Nord-Ost’, as interpreted by contemporary German playwright T. Buchsteiner.
In October of 2010, ‘Nord-Ost’ was performed as a sketch at the Laboratory of Modern Drama and Direction. At the time this work by Yevgeniy Fomintsev, an actor at Omsk’s ‘Fifth Theater’ aroused so much interest in visiting critics that they proposed including it in the theater’s repertoire. “The director has managed to achieve a rare combination. A setting that appeals to the general public, while at the same time demonstrating interest in the destinies of specific characters,” noted Moscow drama critic Olga Galakhova.
Yevgeny Fomintsev turned to a topic that is very sensitive and significant in today’s world. We are talking about an event that forever changed the lives of many people — the seizure of Dubrovka in 2002.
“Who is guilty?” — The author and director do not give an answer to this question. They let speak three heroines whose lives intersected on that day: Chechen “black widow” Zura, Doctor Tamara, and accountant Olga — each has her own confession, to which no one can remain indifferent. The contrasting decor sinks into the mind, while the powerful energy of the text and its piercing intonation erases the temporal and personal framework of the day’s chronicle, and a story about the dramatic events in our country, as written by a German playwright, has a truly universal sound.

Может выражу мнение многих зрителей, в спектакле «Норд Ост» не хватает в конце минуты памяти, молчания происшедшим событиям. Так как это трагедия о которой помнить нужно. А далее уж аплодисменты трём актрисам, сыгравшим главные роли.

Очень понравился спектакль «Норд-Ост»! Оставил необыкновенные впечатления. Большое спасибо театру и особенно Евгению Фоминцеву за столь проникновенную постановку.
