Among the terrorists who attacked the Beslan school was a Muscovite from a well-off family 
The criminal investigation into the terrorist act at the school in Beslan continues. A new investigator is engaged in this, and there are some new facts. Alexander Torshin, the head of the disbanded parliamentary committee, discussed this in an interview with ‘Echo of Moscow’.
The dead body of another terrorist who had participated in the seizure of the school was identified, reported Alexander Torshin.
According to him, the young man is from Moscow, and from a well-to-do family.

 Mikhail Trepashkin: The reason for my prosecution, of course, was that I was representing the interests of victims of the apartment bombings in Moscow and Volgodonsk. The trial was to begin in late October of 2003, in Moscow municipal court, and I was supposed to represent the Morozova sisters. A few days before the start of the trial, a gun was planted in my car. On these grounds I was taken into custody.
In hiding me behind bars, the FSB did everything possible to ensure that I could not participate in the judicial process, if it could even be called that. Exactly why the Russian leadership fears the truth about the 1999 apartment bombings – now that's the $64,000 question! It should be noted and that the apartment bombings in Russian cities in 1999 led to the outbreak of the second Chechen war, and this has been stated repeatedly by senior Russian officials, including Putin himself. Even though not a single Chechen was ever named as a defendant, and, according to the Russian prosecutor's office and the FSB, the case of the bombings is still ongoing. There are some Karachay suspects, but no Chechens.

 Of the 85 minutes on the tape (from the committee to Putin), only the first two are devoted to those three terrible days in September of 2004, and these were just those pictures that where seen around the world. There were no words, no tears, and no demands, just pictures and music. The mothers of these murdered children do not want their children to be in the spotlight once again, or their families and their emotions. They just want to know the truth about the CAUSES of this calamity. It turns out, however, that, besides the mothers, no one is interested.
The material presented is really not a movie at all. It is a montage, or, as they say in television slang, ‘synchronous’, and has dialogue from the trial of the only terrorist captured alive.

 Moscow police chief Vladimir Pronin officially announced that, on the evening of December 27th, an improvised explosive device went off on Manezh Square, according to the news agency 'Interfax'. «On Okhotny Row there was some kind of a homemade bomb consisting of several components, including nitrate, in a plastic covering,» said the chief of the Moscow police.
Pronin, however, said that the blast was being treated as an act of vandalism, according to 'RIA Novosti'. «By the construction of the device and its application, the offender obviously did not want to cause injuries,» said the police chief.

Patrushev admits to mistakes during ‘Nord-Ost’ hostage rescue
FSB director Nikolai Patrushev for the first time has acknowledged that errors were made at terrorist-held Dubrovka in Moscow. He made this confession for the first time during his appearance in a documentary film shown on ‘Channel One’.
“The terrorist seizure of the Dubrovka theatrical center actually forced us to start from scratch,” Patrushev said following a voice-over that stated that the armed seizure of the audience and performers of the musical ‘Nord-Ost’ could be considered the first time in modern history that a terrorist attack had occurred ‘live’. According to the director of Russia’s largest security agency, “the special forces carefully prepared for the operation and listened to the opinions of the professionals.” According to him, the operation itself, despite its complexity, did not cause any major problems.
