Взрывотехники в центре ПятигорскаThe blast in the middle of Pyatigorsk in the Stavropol territory is being investigated as a criminal case under articles of the laws on terrorist acts.

According to the press service of the North Caucasus procurator, central office of investigations for the North Caucasus and southern federal districts, a criminal case has been initiated with regards to the explosion in the Pyatigorsk café, due to evidence of a crime envisaged by Article 205 of the Criminal Code (Terrorist Attack), Article 105 of the Criminal Code (Attempted Murder), and Article 223 of the Criminal Code (Illegal Manufacture of Explosives).

According to preliminary reports by the investigation, at 4:15 pm (Moscow time) on Tuesday, a VAZ-2106 car carrying a smokeless explosive device blew up in front of the cafe located on Kirov Street. The explosion damaged several parked cars and surrounding buildings.

They have identified the type of explosive device and its strength, as well as other circumstances surrounding the incident.
