Patriarch of mayor of Moscow agree to build church in memory of Dubrovka terrorist attack victims An Orthodox church in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack on the theatrical center will be built on Dubrovka in Moscow. “At your request, we selected sites (for churches in Moscow — Ed). We prepared documentation for 60 sites. We will mark the start of this great program by laying the stone together during construction of one of the churches,” said Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin on Wednesday, during a meeting with Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All of Russia. The ‘Interfax-Religion’ web portal reported the mayor’s words. The Patriarch in turn suggested “the first temple will be built on Dubrovka in memory of the slain.” “I think that in late April we will be ready to do this,” replied the mayor. “And together we will build a church in memory of those killed, and those who heroically saved others,” said Kirill. Sergei Sobyanin called it “a good thing.” The capture of the theatrical center occurred October 23–26, 2002. A group of armed militants headed by Movsar Barayev took hostage spectators at the musical ‘Nord-Ost’, which was being performed in the Moscow bearing plant's theatrical center. A total of 916 hostages were seized. All the terrorists were killed as a result of the hostage rescue operation, and most of the hostages were freed. According to official figures, a total of 129 hostages were slain.

Считаю, что правильней будет построить детский сад, новую школу, детский дом с «человеческим лицом» или хотя-бы современную спортивную площадку и назвать в честь погибших детей. Не смогли уберечь их жизни,так, хотя бы увековечить их память и позаботиться о живущих детях.
