 They say that pain dulls with the passing of time, but do not believe it. Each year one is more and more sharply aware of the loss of their family, friends, and loved ones. Why were they deprived of life? What does someone else's life even mean to them?
The country's leadership, politicians, and many ordinary citizens still say that the operation to free the theatrical center was «brilliantly performed.» The other day there was a message on our website: «Be happy that you lived, and that you will live! They rescued you the best they could… Had it not been for this — everyone would've died to the very last one. Read up on how they rescued the hostages at the Munich Olympic Games!» But those who think this way, why do they not read about how the Peruvian hostages — 500 of them — were rescued with the loss of only a single hostage (and this from a heart attack). There was not the use of gas or flamethrowers or grenade launchers. The Peruvian president himself led negotiations. Why must one compare it with the worst possible outcome, and not the best? Why are all these exercises rated «excellent», but in real life they turn out to have terrible numbers of casualties? We were poisoned like cockroaches! And later we were left to our fate.
The European Court of Human Rights, in its decision of December 20th, 2011 (the final decision was June 4th, 2012) found that this poorly executed hostage rescue operation caused the people’s deaths: «The Court acknowledges that in such situations some measure of disorder is unavoidable. It also recognises the need to keep certain aspects of security operations secret. However, in the circumstances the rescue operation of 26 October 2002 was not sufficiently prepared, in particular because of the inadequate information exchange between various services, belated beginning of the evacuation, limited on-the-field coordination of various services, lack of appropriate medical treatment and equipment on the spot, and inadequate logistics. The Court concludes that the State breached its positive obligations under Article 2 of the Convention». There could have been significantly fewer casualties. There should not have even been any — not at Dubrovka or Beslan or Volgodonsk or New York or Madrid or many other terrorist attacks. But there were, and we have to get on with life – hurry to work, raise children, and help parents. And remember.

Уважаемая Светлана! Очень прошу Вас,не обращайте внимание на тех -кто говорит что операция по освобождению заложников была «блестящей» так могут говорить только те люди-у которых ПОЛНОСТЬЮ отсутствует совесть или те люди которые дальше своего носа ничего не видят (и не хотят видеть)!!!

Даже не верится, прошло 10 лет. Безумно жаль всех ушедших. Сколько горя в семьях этих людей, даже представить страшно. Родители не видят как растут их детки, а дети стали сиротами, росли без ласки родителей…. Для меня это личная трагедия, я тоже была в здании эти 3 дня. Мы всегда будем помнить о вас, приходить возлагать цветы и молиться. А всем родственникам и знакомым выражаю огромные искренние соболезнования, жить с этой болью, потерять самое дорогое, свою частицу, свой смысл жизни безумно тяжело…..

Светлана, я тоже часто слышу такие слова: выжила, растишь детей, почему же возвращаешься к этой теме. Отвечаю, но понимают не все: «Ничего не забылось, все время болит, страшно жить, больно и обидно, что Макс погиб из-за преступной халатности людей, в чьих руках было наше спасение». Обидно, что мы — заложники высидели, вытерпели, многие надеялись, что за это время профессионалы подготовятся. Но… не случилось. Потому что приоритеты в этой стране всегда на «замочить», а не на «спасти». А дальше вранье, умолчание и торжественные выступления на годовщины. А еще за 10 лет столько прочитано, рассмотрено в кадрах хроники и документах,что страшная правда душит и не дает возможность молчать, Хочется, чтобы это стало истиной для всех, а не только тех, кто пережил! Потому что в нашей жизни это уже было, а в вашей, увы, может случиться в любой момент!
