 10 years ago an apartment building on Guryanov Street was blown up.Last night in Moscow they remembered the victims of the terrorist attack on Guryanov Street. It has been ten years since the moment of the tragedy. The explosion killed 92 people. A commemorative stele now stands on the site of the destroyed apartment building on No. 19 Guryanov Street. At exactly midnight, wreaths were solemnly laid at the stele. Afterwards politicians and officials made speeches, according to 'Echo of Moscow' Radio. Attorney Igor Trunov stated that the victims of the bombings of apartment buildings on Guryanov Street and on the Kashirsk Highway – numbering more than two thousand persons — still have not received compensation. Speaking on a forthcoming bill, Trunov noted: «In it they mention figures in the range of 25 thousand dollars.» However, the attorney fears that the bill will not make it to Parliament. One of the victims, Tatyana Morozova, told the radio station that even ten years on, memories of the tragedy are as fresh as when the attack occurred. Her mother was killed in the bombing on Guryanov Street. Morozova said that there is still doubt about the Chechen connection to the case, and she does not rule out that the authorities want people to do forgot about the terror attacks as quickly as possible.
