The former chiefs of the Beslan regional interior ministry, who were accused of criminal negligence in connection with the seizure of the school, could avoid criminal responsibility.

The policemen fall under an amnesty act and the court hearings may be halted.  This was reported to ITAR-TASS by a spokesman of the North Osetian regional court.  Today the accused – there are three – have made petitions for amnesty and the judge is to make his decision on May 25th.

Meanwhile, victims of the terror act are protesting and have sent their complaint to the deputy prosecutor of the southern federal region.
