Age 28, from Perm, Russia.

Born in Perm on April 30th, 1974.  Worked as specialist in the accounting division of Perm Petroleum Works.

It was a shock…  The morning news about the seizure of the theater at Dubrovka was horrible enough…  People had gone there to relax, to get pleasure from the show, but as a result…  But as a result they tell you that your loved one, a person whom you saw every day, who every morning you sit at the table next to her, with whom you talk about work and chat about the daily matters, with whom you share your problems and ask for advise and assistance…  And now you start to remember WHAT it is, to understand how much a single work can hurt people, wound and ruin…

Lubov…  Lubov Belousova…  When you are 27 years old you always think only about the good and the pleasant, you remember the happy times in the past and make plans for the future…  To fall in love and get married, then later have a little son and daughter, and to be together forever and never part…  And that mother and father would be healthy and happy and to help them around the house, the garden, the yard…

A zeal to learn new things, her self-realization and the acknowledgement of those around her, her constant work to get ahead in her studies at the difficult international business college at the university, all this demanded that she give it her all, and have lots of self-discipline.  Luba had it all.  She succeeded at everything: she managed to look like a cover girl, kept up with her studies and her work, and never forgot her friends.

But fate ordered otherwise…  Her life was torn away before it ever had a chance to begin, and grief entered our home…  The death of a loved one is hard for all around, but when it is YOUR child who dies from a trip to the theater – this is absurd…   You just cannot get it through your head, it is impossible to understand…  It is unjust, harsh, and…  And now there is only emptiness…

Luba is no more, no more Luba-Lubashka-Lubanchik…  She remains in our memory, and in the memory of those who loved her, those who to whom she was dear and close, and that is how it is and how it shall be while we are alive, while she lives in our memory…

HER EXPRESSION WAS SOMEWHAT SAD

Larissa Seleznyova, chief of investment planning for one of Perm’s businesses, recalls Lubov Belousova: “The tempo her life was very fast.”  Lubov and Larissa worked in the same office.  “In the mornings she went to work, and every evening she went to school: she was studying English.  I can’t imagine when Luba had time for the salon, the stores…  She also went to school on Saturdays, or went with her parents to their weekend house and helped with the garden.”

According to Seleznyova, Luba dreamed of moving to Moscow, and so she was leaning a foreign language, which is a requirement for work in one of the companies in the capital city.  One cannot even count the girl’s talents.  “Luba’s first degree was as a food technologist,” said Larissa.  “I still remember her pirozhki and sweet rolls, which she did not merely cook from a recipe, but invented on her own.”

“Luba was brought to the plant by her father, who back then was working as deputy director of production,” recalls former director Raisa Rutskina.  “ We agreed that if she couldn’t handle the work, then she had to leave immediately.  But this never happened.  Luba quickly mastered it and became an irreplaceable part of the team.  She often remained here after work.”  Luba Belousova was sent to Moscow for a seminar.  “I remember how she brought the documents to me for signature,” continued Raisa.  “On leaving the office, Luba turned around, and her expression was somewhat sad.”
